Responsive Website Basics: Code with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
This introductory-level course offers an overview of the basics of website programming and aims to equip participants with an introductory understanding of some of the most commonly used programming languages, namely HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
The objectives of the course
One of the objectives of the course is to provide participants with an understanding of responsible website design and management and introduce them to coding through exercises and tasks that require no prerequisite knowledge. Learners also improve their awareness of layout and website control, as well as navigation through the final project of the course, which requires them to build their own web (and ideally) interactive web page.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, learners will be able to create simple web pages and use the programming languages, covered by the course, to control texts and layout on a page. Participants will also improve their knowledge of using CSS libraries and manipulating content via JavaScript. Course assessment is conducted in various stages and forms, including assignments on writing code (1 hour), 4 quizzes of 20 minutes each, and several exercises, which take between 5 to 30 minutes to complete.
