University of Nicosia Master's in Blockchain and Digital Currency

About the degree

The University of Nicosia (UNIC) has been offering this degree since 2014 and as of 2021 has begun offering it on campus. This programme was born out of the wave of demand for academic and professional education and certification in blockchain. This programme is hosted by the Department of Digital Innovation at UNIC. It aims to equip its students with knowledge covering finance, management, computer science and information science to allow students to engage with blockchain systems and cryptocurrencies in a holistic manner. 

The programme is delivered in three semesters conferring students with 90 ECTS credits and is taught in English. 

Study programme

Students will take 30 ECTS credits' worth of courses each semester. The first two semesters include three courses each with the third semester allowing students to select among a wide list of elective courses including a thesis should they wish to do so.

Requirements

Applications from prospective students need to include the following elements:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Work experience, if any
  • English proficiency - students who have undertaken a first degree in English do not have to prove proficiency. Other students need to present proof of proficiency with a TOEFL score of 550 paper-based or 213 computer-based, or GCSE "O" level with "C", or IELTS with a score of 6.0 or score placement at the ENGL-100 level of the University of Nicosia Placement Test
